Samuel L. Jackson Begins His Recording Sessions For 'The Incredibles 2'

In late October, Pixar revealed that the theatrical release of The Incredibles 2 would be moved up to a June 15, 2018 date (now ahead of Toy Story 4 - set for June 21, 2019). The date change left many fans wondering why? Could it be that The Incredibles 2 was moving along quicker than the studio expected - well, according to Samuel L. Jackson's Instagram account that may just be the case. Late on Thursday, December 15, Jackson shared a photo from inside the recording booth stating he was getting ready for his first day of voice recording for The Incredibles 2.

While Writer/Director Brad Bird hasn't shared too many details on the eagerly anticipated superhero film, he did note to EW that the sequel is well underway, “It’s very actively moving, and we’re excited about it,” he said. “[We’re] trying to take it in some new directions.” As the film evolves in new directions, the original musical cues will be back as composer Michael Giacchino officially signed on to score the film back in November 2015. Though Giacchino's musical notes may ring with familiarity, Bird was quick to point out the complexity with creating a sequel, “I mean, that’s the trick with a sequel. It’s repeating yourself, without repeating yourself.”
