Pixar's bi-annual (previously annual) Motorama took place yesterday (July 12 from Noon to 2:00 PM) and celebrated the world of cars...no, not the movie...actual automobiles. Pixar employees and invited guests were able to stroll the studio's grounds and view cars of all sorts (classic all the way to soon-to-be-released vehicles) while they enjoyed some barbecue and music. We were also very happy to see that the
Pizza Planet Truck was in attendance as well - the details on the truck are so amazing. Congrats again to Marco and crew for their amazing feat - read more about
our meet up with the Pizza Planet Truck.
Below is a selection of our favorite photos from the event culled from Twitter and Instagram. If you'd like to view a great collection of images, I'd recommend checking out
Stephan Bugaj's Twitter feed. Amongst all of the amazing sports cars and classics, we also loved seeing some of the images of cars related to the movie
Cars. For instance, the Citroen pictured below is a car that was featured in
Cars 2 as a nod to John Lasseter's tradition with his wife, Nancy, in which they kiss at the center of the Pont des Arts Bridge in Paris. If you look close (
as featured in our director's commentary review), you can see the moment honored as the characters arrive in Paris during
Cars 2.

If you'd like to see a lot more images from Ferrari San Francisco, packed with great (as you could expect) Ferrari images, head to their
Facebook page.
As a parting fun fact - in 2010 for the tenth anniversary of Motorama, a special edition 1:55 scale Lightning McQueen was given to guests who attended the event. Hopefully we don't have to wait until 2030 to see what the twentieth anniversary gift will be!
