Pixar Receives Three Nominations for the 88th Annual Academy Awards

Early this morning the nomination for the 88th Annual Academy Awards were released with Pixar receiving three nominations for Best Animated Short Film (Sanjay's Super Team), Best Animated Feature (Inside Out) and Best Original Screenplay (Inside Out). We are thrilled to have Pixar return to the Best Original Screenplay category as previous nominations include, Up, Ratatouille and Wall-e (to name a few).

Unfortunately, Inside Out was overlooked for the Best Picture category as well as The Good Dinosaur's exclusion from the Best Animated Feature category. Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur were also both excluded for Best Original Score, Sound Editing and Sound Mixing - nominations we thought would have been very well deserved.

Sanjay's Super Team advanced in the Best Animated Short Film category along with Bear Story, Prologue, We Can't Live Without Cosmos and World of Tomorrow. From a historical standpoint, Pixar has won the Best Animated Short Film category three times for Tin Toy (1988), Geri's Game (1997) and For The Birds (2001) - let's hope Sanjay's makes this a fourth victory.
