As 2015 continues on, news surrounding Pixar's The Good Dinosaur is starting to come to light. Like many films, The Good Dinosaur has gone through a few changes regarding the storyline - some ideas may be 'extinct' but the main focus of Arlo and his human companion have remained. The new plot synopsis from a Walt Disney Studios and Pixar Animation Studios press release states:
"The Good Dinosaur" asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.
Over the last year, Sohn has been quietly streamlining the story, a buddy comedy about a teenage dinosaur and a human boy, in preparation for a November 2015 release. "The heart of the story remains the same," Sohn said, in an interview last week. "It's always been about this young dinosaur growing up. But the world itself has changed a lot. Nature has become a character." Sohn has jettisoned some of Peterson's signature ideas, such as modeling the dinosaurs on Amish farmers, and added new elements, including treating nature as the film's antagonist.Be sure to share your thoughts with other Pixar fans on The Good Dinosaur in the Pixar Post Forum.
