Next Trio of Pixar SparkShorts ('Loop', 'Float'&'Wind') To Be Scored by Mark Orton, Barney Jones & Andrew Jimenez

Following the online premiere of Smash & Grab, Purl, and Kitbull in February of this year, Pixar is set to release their next trio of SparkShorts alongside the the highly anticipated, Disney+ service on November 12, 2019. Although we've known about the stories for a while now (synopses below), we were thrilled to learn more about the composers for the upcoming short films — Float, Loop, and Wind.

Film Music Reporter notes that Mark Orton (Nebraska, Box Trolls) has completed scoring for Loop. Barney Jones, who previously scored Smash & Grab, will return to score Float and Kitbull composer, Andrew Jimenez, will return to score Wind.

LOOP SYNOPSIS

A non-verbal, autistic girl and a chatty boy are partnered on a canoeing trip. To complete their journey across an urban lake, they must both learn how the other experiences the world.

FLOAT SYNOPSIS

In Float, a father discovers that his son is different from other kids in the most unusual way. To keep them both safe from judgement, Dad covers him and keeps him out of sight—but when his son’s ability becomes public, Dad must decide whether to run and hide or to accept his son as he is.

WIND SYNOPSIS

Set in a world of magical realism, Wind sees a grandmother and her grandson trapped deep down an endless chasm, scavenging debris that surrounds them to realize their dream of escaping to a better life.
